A. O. Smith Electrical Products
Company displayed its complete line of versatile Masterfit™ multiple
horsepower motors for the replacement market at this year’s AHR Convention,
January 26 - 28, in Anaheim, Calif.
The company has expanded the line of Masterfit replacement motors for
the heating and air conditioning (HAC) market to include six condenser
fan models and four direct drive fan and blower models.
Masterfit motors are easily and quickly adapted on-site to most indoor
blower and condenser fan applications. Using a combination of speed taps
and capacitors, these motors have been engineered with flexibility in
mind.
“Stocking a full supply of these motors on the service vehicle at
all times allows service technicians to install the motor they need, when
they need it. Delays and aggravation are avoided by having a motor on
hand that is compatible with multiple applications,” Warren Doney,
manager of channel marketing, A. O. Smith Electrical Products Company,
pointed out.
A. O. Smith’s expanded line of Masterfit, totally enclosed air-over,
condenser fan motors now includes six different models. Each of these
condenser fan motors is suited for 208-230 volts. Models FE6001 and FE6003
will run at 825 RPMs, while models FSE6000, FE6000, FE6002, and FE6004
will each perform at 1075 RPMs. All Masterfit condenser fan motors have
the flexibility to operate at four different horsepowers. The condenser
fan line offers models ranging from ½ - 1/6 HP.
The company’s broadened line of Masterfit open drip-proof, direct-drive
fan and blower motors now encompasses four models. Each of these direct
drive fan and blower motors runs at 1075 RPMs. The FDL6001 and FDL6002
models are suited for 115-volt applications. Models FD6000 and FD6001
may be used at 208-230 volts. With the unique ability of each model to
function at four different horsepowers, the direct drive fan and blower
line offers a range of motors from ½ - 1/6 HP.
Every A. O. Smith Masterfit multiple horsepower replacement motor is designated
with the A. O. Smith Conservationist™ logo symbolizing its high
efficiency rating. In addition to being energy efficient, the complete
line of 48 frame, single-phase Masterfit motors share features such as
an automatic protector, reversible rotation, and class B insulation. These
permanent split capacitor (PSC) motors have extended thru bolts and may
be mounted by a belly band, thru-bolts, or shell holes. Each motor is
manufactured with Rheem mounting holes in the shell.
A major benefit of A. O. Smith’s expanded line of versatile Masterfit
motors is that the service technician will require less inventory. Due
to the flexibility of these Masterfit models, installations will be easier,
which will result in time savings.
