A.O. Smith Emerges as the Single Source for Electric Motor Solutions at EASA Convention

March 31, 2000 - EASA distributors now can turn to A.O. Smith for all of their residential, commercial and industrial motor needs.

Tipp City, Ohio – A.O. Smith is opening its EASA 2000 booth, #869, as a one-stop shop for electric motors.

With its recent acquisition of MagneTek’s global motor operations, A.O. Smith now offers one of the industry’s broadest line of electric motors, including hermetic motors and subfractional, fractional and integral horsepower motors for diverse residential, commercial, and industrial applications. Motors ranging from 1/200 horsepower to 500 horsepower are now available from stock. These motors are used for pumps, crop dryers, elevators, high-pressure washers, oil well pumps, conveyors, packaging equipment, food processing machinery and equipment, and a multitude of other applications serviced by EASA distributors.

A.O. Smith’s extensive product offering includes the following motor lines:

Integral horsepower AC and DC motors: A.O. Smith’s broad line of integral horsepower motors covers both commercial and industrial applications. The motors range from one to 500

horsepower in two-, four- and six-pole designs. Standard products include open dripproof, totally enclosed, severe duty, totally enclosed fan-cooled (TEFC), TEFC-severe duty, and explosionproof designs, with high efficiency E-Plus®, premium efficiency E-Plus® 3, and inverter duty designs also available.

Hermetic Motors A.O. Smith is North America’s leading supplier of these precision rotor and stator kits, used in air conditioning and refrigeration compressors. The company manufactures a comprehensive line of hermetic products, ranging in size from 5.5 inches to more than 15 inches and ranging from ½ to 500 horsepower.

Fractional Horsepower Motors: These durable A.O. Smith motors are available in sizes ranging from 1/10 to 5 horsepower. A.O. Smith manufactures a wide range of split phase, permanent split capacitor, capacitor start and polyphase motors for air-moving equipment as well as water-moving equipment.

Subfractional Horsepower Motors: A.O. Smith is the world’s leading manufacturer of these C-frame motors, which are critical components in such products as range hood and bathroom fans, microwave and convection ovens, frost-free refrigerators, and portable medical equipment. In addition to single-coil, two-pole shaded style motors, A.O. Smith manufactures subfractional motor assemblies such as axial fans and centrifugal crossflow blowers.

A.O. Smith stocks a variety of motors available for immediate shipment from its Regional Distribution Centers throughout the U.S. and centers in Canada and Asia.
