A.O. Smith Introduces Expanded Line of Century® Industrial Totally-Enclosed Fan-Cooled E-Plus® Motors

March 31, 2000 - Tipp City, Ohio – A.O. Smith Electrical Products Company, a leading manufacturer of electric motors for diverse residential, commercial, and industrial applications, is unveiling its newly expanded line of cast-iron Century® Industrial E-Plus® motors at the 2000 EASA convention, April 2-5 in Anaheim, Calif.

The totally enclosed, fan-cooled (TEFC) motor line now includes two additional speeds: 60 through 300 horsepower, 3600 RPM; and 50 through 300 horsepower, 1200 RPM. The TEFC motors are designed for continuous-duty industrial operation in blower, pump, compressor, and conveyor applications and offer mechanical and electrical flexibility to easily meet diverse application requirements.

The energy-efficient Century® TEFC motor line also features:

Cast-iron frame and bearing brackets built to withstand demanding industrial use;
Class F insulation with Class B temperature limits for long life;
A broad operating range of horsepower, voltage, and frequency options;
Energy efficiency that meets EPACT and current NEMA MG 1 requirements;
Speed Engineered®, corona-free, variable-frequency drive compatibility that
meets current NEMA MG 1-31 performance standards;

CSA approval and UL recognition; and
A two-year warranty.

The E-Plus® TEFC motor line is part of a complete Century® industrial product line offered by A.O. Smith. The line includes motors for applications requiring open dripproof, totally enclosed fan cooled, totally enclosed fan cooled - severe duty, IEEE 841, explosionproof, and inverter-duty Speed Plus™ design and construction.

A.O. Smith stocks a variety of motors available for immediate shipment from its Regional Distribution Centers throughout the U.S. and centers in Canada and Asia. Large orders and orders requiring standard modifications to "off-the-shelf" products also can be quickly filled from the company’s Central Distribution Center in LaVergne, Tenn.
